The invisible shackle around your ankle
As long as you are living under your parents roof, you will live
by their expectations of what a good son is supposed to be.
Then they marry you off. You will compromise with your wife’s
expectations about what a good husband is supposed to be. Perhaps even your
inlaw’s expectations about how you should run your household. Then you
have children. And along with the joy of fatherhood, comes a new set of
expectations about what a good Father is supposed to be. From your wife, your parents, her parents, society, and of course your children
when they’re old enough.
So if you are an adult and you’re single today, this is your only
chance to be who you want to be. It is a very short span, so use it
wisely.
